Who am I?
Hello
My name is David Gundry. I’m a visiting lecturer here at York St John. I also teach the third-year Artificial Intelligence for Games module on the games degree programme.
I’m doing a PhD in computer science and games at the University of York. My research interests are applied games or “games with a purpose”. I use maths, particularly statistics, for my research, as well as for solving all manner of problems that come up in the nitty-gritty of game development.
If you need any support relating to the course outside of the lab sesions, you can contact me over Microsoft Teams using the group for this module (prefered), or by email at d.gundry@yorksj.ac.uk

How I’m running this module
Because the pandemic means that we don’t have space for safe, socially-distanced lectures, the way we think about and deliver this (and other) modules has changed. A lot more of the content will be available online for you to work through at your own pace. The lab sessions will operate as a kind of flipped classroom, where we explore the topics you’ve already encountered in greater depth.
We’re trying our best to give you the best experience possible despite the circumstances. I think a lot of the changes we have made are changes for the better. However, please do let me know if you’re having any difficulties with the format of this course or accessing the course content.
